Arrive at Copenhagen International Airport where our representative will welcome you and transfer you to your centrally located hotel. After check-in and refreshments, enjoy an orientation walk through Copenhagen's charming streets, including the picturesque Nyhavn harbor with its colorful houses and waterfront restaurants. Evening welcome dinner featuring traditional Danish cuisine. Overnight in Copenhagen.
After breakfast, full day discovering the Danish capital. Visit the iconic Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale. Continue to Amalienborg Palace, home of the Danish Royal Family, to witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Explore the magnificent Rosenborg Castle, housing the Crown Jewels, and stroll through the beautiful King's Garden. After lunch, enjoy Tivoli Gardens, one of the world's oldest amusement parks (entry included, rides at extra cost). After breakfast, morning free for last-minute shopping or to visit the fascinating Designmuseum Danmark showcasing Danish design excellence. Transfer to the port for an overnight ferry to Oslo (or flight, depending on schedule). If taking the ferry, enjoy the scenic sailing through the Kattegat and Skagerrak waters with dinner on board. If flying, arrive in Oslo in the evening and transfer to your hotel. Overnight on ferry or in Oslo.
Upon morning arrival by ferry (or after breakfast if arrived by flight previous evening), enjoy a comprehensive tour of the Norwegian capital. Visit the impressive Viking Ship Museum housing well-preserved Viking vessels, and the fascinating Kon-Tiki Museum dedicated to explorer Thor Heyerdahl. Continue to Vigeland Sculpture Park, featuring over 200 sculptures by Gustav Vigeland in bronze, granite, and cast iron. After breakfast, embark on one of the world's most scenic train journeys - the Bergen Railway crossing the mountainous spine of Norway. Marvel at spectacular landscapes of mountains, fjords, and waterfalls during this approximately 7-hour journey. Upon arrival in Bergen, the gateway to the fjords, check in to your hotel and enjoy an evening orientation walk of the historic Bryggen wharf with its colorful wooden buildings (UNESCO World Heritage site). Morning exploration of Bergen, including a ride on the Fløibanen funicular to Mount Fløyen for panoramic views of the city and surrounding fjords. After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Depending on your flight time, enjoy some last-minute shopping at Swedish design stores or visit the ABBA Museum (optional, extra charge).
